Open letter to the sadists who set AIPG 2012

Disrespected sir/madam/clown,

This is not intended as a complaint letter. Nor is it an abuse message, so I will try and keep my use of four letter words to a minimum. This is, essentially, a question that I, a concerned citizen and medical student, wish to ask of the esteemed panel of examiners who set the questions for the single most important entrance examination for medical graduates. What the hell do you think you're playing at, you dumb freaks?

The purpose of an entrance examination into any course, since you've clearly forgotten, is to check if the applicant's knowledge is sufficient for him to cope with all the new things he or she must learn further in that course. Instead, you set questions that only the people who have actually finished the course can answer, and that too possibly. I can see that it has never occurred to you that the students who struggle and sacrifice for years, deserve, if not consideration, then at least courtesy, and not the mockery that you have so gleefully dealt out. 
Has it also ever struck you that the very point of specializations and super-specializations is that one person need not go to the depths of the million aspects of medicine, but rather have a thorough knowledge in one subject, and sufficient knowledge in the rest? Yet you expect graduate students with minimum experience to answer the same questions (in nineteen differrent subjects) that are asked to post graduates, who spend three years studying just that subject. The message that you seem to be conveying is that post graduation is a waste of time, because apparently there is nothing that we are not expected to know right now. 

I realize that in an examintion without a preset portion limit, you are legally allowed to set and ask any question. But it would be nice if you realized the consequences of setting papers such as this. Lakhs of medical students spend years attempting to mug up and remember endless amounts of information, half of which they will never again use in their medical careers. At the end of it, such a paper mockingly reminds them what we knew all along, that our field is limitless, and it is impossible to know everything, even after a lifetime spent studying it. Whereas all they really need on that day is an assurance that hard work pays off.
I can safely say that if the opportunity ever comes, any student can set a paper full of questions that the leading medical expert of the country cannot answer, because he didn't read the latest nature journal that researched on the effects of turtle blood on sores, or the percentage of children who fail in class 7th each year, or the change in the intra ocular pressure when someone hangs upside down and holds his breath. And yet, these questions can, and now that I have mentioned it, probably will come in next year's paper. 

(Right now, the news channels are full of cheating students and hidden cameras, and how some people would go to any lengths to get a seat etc. 
It is a testament to the paper, that this news has not bothered me so much. I know how they feel, and besides, I doubt there's anybody outside the centre who had a better shot at the paper than someone in it. There are times when even google can't help) 

I must end this letter with a short word of thanks. In the past, I have wasted a long time supporting the education system in my country, believing it to be ultimately good for us, as opposed to studying abroad. At least that is one argument I won't be having again.
