Can you feel the change in the air today?
The sun has blinked
And the world has winked
Back, in a special way.
On cue, the clouds are drifting
And its colours started shifting
From pale to grey.
Usually its so hard to feel really free
But when the wind
Hits against my skin
It comes so easily
I close my eyes and wait
For that feeling to abate
But it stays with me.
Is that distant sound of thunder that i hear.
There's an expectation
A rising anticipation
Of inevitable cheer.
The first of a million drops
Falls on my face and stops
As if to say 'I'm here!'
Rain!... Its that time of year again.
When all our windows may be shut
But our hearts are open wide to see the..
Rain!...It will wash away all stains
Let it find it's way into your mind
Let it flow with the blood in your veins.
Rain!... You could walk around in pain
And no one would recognize it
They would think your tears were simply drops of..
Rain!... There's no secret and no shame
We all stand beneath a single cloud
And share the boons, the benifits and blame.
Rain!... Beautiful in it's disdain
Of all our human differences
It falls with equal love and equal rage.
Rain!... It was there before we came.
It has graced the best and worst in us,
It'll nurse the earth when none of us remain.

Thanks Aekata.. Nice to hear from you again on this blog.
They would think your tears were simply drops of.. Rain..
one of the best lines in a poem uve writen.. !!
barring greatest sin and reflection ofc.. :)
Its good & has soul...The poet could have avoided refrain...Mentioning Rain!! multiple times was like adding salt to sea..
@Bharat.. It was originally written as a song; transformed into a poem. And carried part of the 'chorus' with it.. Unconventional in a poem, I agree.
Salt to sea is a metaphor for pointlessness.
