So we begin. With the joy of catching up with a group of friends that I had spent the best part of the last 3 years with.
Here's who I am traveling with, for they deserve to be mentioned by name. All brilliant doctors, and yet so different.
1.Jayant - my room mate and the definitive gentleman
2.Suyog - the grown up of the batch (and father of the cutest kid I've seen)
3. Bhushan - the brave one
4. Ravi - the funny one, and the best teacher amongst the batch
5. Akshay - the badminton champ who turns out to be equally good at Antakshari.
6. Pooja - the solitary girl of the batch, and brilliant at that.
7. Gajanan - aka gajju, who shifts seamlessly from being a vegetarian and non-vegetarian
8. Jimil - aka Jimilbhai, probably the most gujju guy in the country after Modi. And also winner of every medical award there is.
9. Bhaskar - the most disciplined guy ever
10. Shrikrishna - the ISKON follower, with a uniquely calm outlook to life
11. Shahaji - the most carefree guy ever.
12. Rajat - correction. This is the most carefree guy ever.
13. Dhiraj - brilliant. Competitive. Focused. Fun.
And the two of couldn't come, and are missed a lot..
14. Alok - the introvert. The poet. The Hindi literature lover.
15. Ashwin - the closed book.
And also joining for the journey were Tejashree and Natasha from the Gynac department. Who would have thought medicine and gynac can ever get along, let alone take a trip together! Shows how perspectives change after residency.
As for the trip so far, its been as fun as expected and then some more.
The highway dhaba lunch with that amazing lassi, the sacred dip in the waters of Gangs at Haridwar, the late night drive to Rishikesh and the campfire dinner...
Tomorrow promises to be a busy day, starting with River rafting..
Hope you're all good. See you tom
